Why isn't the entertainer charged a commission?
Because they should keep what they earn. Most platforms take 15–25% from the performer. Instead, Fortis is completely free for acts — they quote their rate, keep 100% of it, and Fortis's margin is already built into the all-in price the host sees. No hidden fees either side.
What is instant book?
Some acts have opened their calendar for direct booking. Hit the button, pay, done. Others prefer to chat first — those show an 'Enquire' button instead.
What happens if the act cancels?
Fortis Cover steps in. We either find you a like-for-like replacement within 48 hours, or refund in full — all-in, no extra fees.
How are acts vetted?
Every act uploads proof of PLI (public liability insurance), PAT certificate if applicable, and at least 2 references. Pro-tier acts are interviewed. Anyone found to have faked a review is removed.
When does money reach the act?
7 days after the event — assuming there's no dispute. This gives both parties time to raise issues. Once released, acts are paid to their UK bank account within 2 working days.
